Who it is for
You work in development, public action or a civil society organisation, and you design schemes for people you have never listened to at length. Or you are a student and you want to understand the ground before theorising about it.
What you will be able to do
Enter a community without arriving as the expert. Observe without interpreting too soon. Conduct an immersion interview. Run a co-design workshop with people who did not go to university. Report results back to those who gave them to you. Turn a field observation into a design decision.
What you take away
A documented immersion report, a scheme co-designed with the host community, and a public presentation to local stakeholders.
How it runs
| Phase | Objective |
|---|---|
| Preparation | Framing, posture, observation protocol |
| Immersion | Living on site, interviews, observation |
| Co-design | Workshops with the community, prototyping |
| Handback | Report, local presentation, transfer |
The host territory and the partner community are settled with you at the framing stage, according to your country and the ground you want to work on.
